Apr. 17th, 2008 @ 03:46 pm The Office is on tonight... yay.
Ryan: What I really want, honestly, Michael is for you to know it so that you can communicate it to the people here, to your clients, whomever.

Michael Scott: Oh okay.

Ryan: What?

Michael Scott: It's whoever, not whomever.

Ryan: It's whomever.

Michael Scott: No, whomever is never acutally right.

Jim Halpert: Nope, sometimes it's right.

Creed: Michael is right. It's a made up word used to trick students-

Andy: No. Actually, whomever is the formal version of the word--

Oscar: Obviously it's a real word- but I don't know how to use it correctly.

Michael Scott: [to camera] Not a native speaker.

Kevin: I know what's right. But I'm not gonna say. Because you're all jerks who didn't come see my band last night.

Ryan: Do you really know which one is correct?

Kevin: I don't know.

Pam Beesly: It's whom when it's the object of the sentence and who when as the subject.

Phyllis: That sounds right.

Michael Scott: Well it sounds right but is it?

Stanley: How did Ryan use it, as an object?

Ryan: As an object.

Kelly: Ryan used me as an object.

Oscar: Is he right about that--

Pam Beesly: How did he use it again?

Toby: It was, Ryan wanted Michael, the subject, to explain the computer system, the object--

Michael Scott: Thank you!

Toby: ...to whomever, meaning us, the indirect object. Which is the, the correct usage of the word.

Michael Scott: No one, uh asked you anything ever so whomever's name is Toby, why don't you take a letter opener and stick it in your skull?

Feb. 29th, 2008 @ 03:47 pm My Goals to achieve by NEXT YEAR

I plan to go back to visit the Philippines.
I will to lose 30 lbs.
I will have at least a condo, but most likely a house, depending where I end up working.
I will have that condo/house fully furnished.
I will get a new car.
I plan to travel to at least 2 other places outside the country (Canada doesn't count, I go there every quarter).
I will have at least 4 blank books full with writing, poetry, drawings, etc.
I will get a new laptop and desktop.
I will cycle through at least 2 new cell phones.

Hmmz that all I can think about for now.

I'm pretty sure I can get/do all that by.... the next February 29 =)

Feb. 20th, 2008 @ 12:38 am Cornel West
Current Mood: peaceful
Well our Cornel West event just came and went...

It was a lot last minute work considering we had a month to plan this event...

BUT....

Oh my freakin geez, I've never been so attentive, inspired, influenced, enlightened, and positive in such a long time. He's such an awesome speaker... and he spoke such universal messages grounded in experience and history and studies. He made connections that allowed everyone to understand and comprehend. You know you're doing something right when the Q&A session of your visit is just as long as your presentation.

I just bought a couple of his books online.

Feb. 16th, 2008 @ 02:41 pm hair
so I've been growing out my hair for a bit... getting a trim here and there to even and clean the overall look.

I was just sitting at my desk trying to get some reading done... then I realized that I was totally playing with my hair and running my fingers through it. I totally phased out and realized that I wasn't really getting any reading done. I think I've been doing the same thing during class and also during work meetings.

time to chop it off.
